The group is formed of female patients who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. The women find support talking amongst themselves to help each other through treatment as well as dealing with the personal and intimate aspects of breast cancer. This can be at any time during the cancer journey; from diagnosis through treatment and afterwards.
A different topic of interest is introduced at each meeting to help patients to understand and manage their cancer. Health professionals as well as therapists and other speakers, will help patients to stay active, to have a healthier life, as well as giving them confidence in living with breast cancer.

Brain injury can challenge every aspect of your life – walking, talking, thinking and feeling – and the losses can be severe and permanent. It can mean losing both the life you once lived and the person you once were. We all think ‘it will never happen to me’, but every year around 350,000 people are admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury. That’s one every 90 seconds. A brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time. When it does, Headway is here to help.

We’re bombarded with skincare advice every day, but what actually works? Should we be taking collagen? Is sunscreen really effective? What should we be looking out for when checking our skin? Join the team from The Lighthouse Clinic for an informal and practical discussion about skin health, ageing well and separating fact from fiction…
The talk will be followed by a friendly Q&A session, with the option to submit questions in advance via our Facebook group. A relaxed, welcoming and non-judgemental space where no question is too small. This Event is FREE to attend! Come for the talk, stay for a drink and a chat, or join us for the whole evening – whatever works for you.
A new monthly gathering for women is launching on the Isle of Wight this summer, offering a relaxed and welcoming space to discuss health and wellbeing topics, hear from local experts and enjoy good conversation. The idea behind the project is simple: to create a friendly, non-judgemental space where women can come together to talk openly about health and wellbeing issues that affect everyday life. Many women say they feel overwhelmed by the amount of advice, products and conflicting information available online, particularly around topics such as menopause, supplements, hormones, sleep, nutrition and healthy ageing. Women’s Fact-Share Social aims to cut through some of that noise by bringing local women together with trusted speakers and specialists for informal talks and discussion.
The sessions are not intended to be formal workshops or clinical health programmes. Instead, they will provide an opportunity to hear from knowledgeable local professionals, ask questions, share experiences and enjoy conversation in a relaxed social setting. Doors open at 5.30pm, with talks beginning at 6pm and finishing by 7.30pm.

Our group meet in the Hunnyhill room at the Riverside Centre, Newport on the first Thursday of every month, 10.00 am – 12.00 pm. Refreshments are available.

NEW ARTIST ALERT! 👀 🎨 We are delighted to introduce our next artists, chosen through our Community Canvas initiative. Here are a few words from them: Sight for Wight Art Group! “I would like to introduce you to our little art group who meet weekly at Sight for Wight in Carisbrooke to enjoy a couple of hours painting, sketching, drawing or whatever craft we enjoy but more importantly we chat, drink tea, coffee and don’t forget the biscuits! The group has been meeting for many years and sadly some of our members have taken their paint brushes with them
Let's talk about periods. 💛 Too many women spend years struggling with symptoms like severe pain, heavy bleeding and ongoing pelvic discomfort before getting answers. Come for the talk, stay for a drink and a chat, and connect with others in a relaxed and supportive environment.
