The group is formed of female patients who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. The women find support talking amongst themselves to help each other through treatment as well as dealing with the personal and intimate aspects of breast cancer. This can be at any time during the cancer journey; from diagnosis through treatment and afterwards.
A different topic of interest is introduced at each meeting to help patients to understand and manage their cancer. Health professionals as well as therapists and other speakers, will help patients to stay active, to have a healthier life, as well as giving them confidence in living with breast cancer.

Our group meet in the Hunnyhill room at the Riverside Centre, Newport on the first Thursday of every month, 10.00 am – 12.00 pm. Refreshments are available.

Why give blood?
Giving blood saves lives. The blood you give is a lifeline in an emergency and for people who need long-term treatments.
Why do we need you to give blood?
We need new blood donors from all backgrounds to ensure there is the right blood available for patients who need it.
We need:
- 4,300 blood donations every day on average to meet the needs of our hospitals
- over 140,000 people to donate blood for the first time this year
- 12,000 new Black heritage donors, to meet the growing demand for ethnically matched blood for sickle cell patients who need regular transfusions to stay alive
- more young people aged 17-35 to donate, to ensure we have enough blood for the future
To give blood in the Trafalgar room at the Riverside Centre, make an appointment by following the link below; you may need to create a simple account if you have not done so previously.

Brain injury can challenge every aspect of your life – walking, talking, thinking and feeling – and the losses can be severe and permanent. It can mean losing both the life you once lived and the person you once were. We all think ‘it will never happen to me’, but every year around 350,000 people are admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury. That’s one every 90 seconds. A brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time. When it does, Headway is here to help.

We also offer ongoing support following treatment. We meet for informal coffee on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at the Riverside Centre in Newport, Isle of Wight from 10:30am -12:00pm.
